The famous "Largo" theme from "XERXES," a grand opera very loosely based on the ancient Persian king, written in 1738 by Georg Frideric Handel. Like his even more famous "Messiah," this work dates from the German-born Handel's British period when he was court composer to the King of England. This and numerous other musical eCards (FredGrams) are designed expressly for young parents (and grandparents) to teach their children the alphabet and, in addition, acquaint them with classical music and great composers.
